help
I'm new to this forum and a bit overwhelmed with the escalating fuel prices. I've recently put in a K&N air filter, ngk spark plugs, tire press is 40psi,fully synthetic oil, will be getting a fogwarmer, have reduced my highway speed to 55mph,and have done away with jackrabbit starts.I drive an 05 Kia Amanti, if any one has anymore ideas to squeeze out more miles to a gallon please let me know. thanks:cool:

Excellent start, and welcome to the site. Automatic or stick?

I would be slightly wary of the fogwarmer, this guy has a lot of information on things that don't work: https://www.fuelsaving.info/index.htm

Of everything you've done, slowing down will probably have the biggest positive impact on fuel economy. Several of the other items will have no to negligible effect.
In general, changes to your driving habits will greatly exceed the impact of mechanical mods. And changing driving habits is free. The best money to be spent in the beginning is on fuel consumption instrumentation like a ScanGaugeII - https://scangauge.com if your car doesn't already have a stock display. Welcome
Get a SGII. Not the fogwarmer. psy |
