Helping Hummer
Helping Hummer
GM tries to improve brand's fuel economy thought this might be interesting. is this good or bad... neither i guess. but i suppose it prove that if governements would force carmakers to make more efficient vehicles they suddenly could be able to... they wouldn't like it, they would drag their heels, they would make everyone pay more, but things would improve. if sales go down because of bad FE, FE goes up... fortunately hummers are still quite rare here. i think the taxs system is not really kind to these big monsters, and for good reasons. funny thing is that because of they're weight they're legally treated like big cargo trucks on the highway. max speed is 90km/h, they're not allowed to overtake and resricted to the right lane... i'm not sure if it's enforced but i think it's good that people who want to drive a truck are treated like people who drive a truck. :p btw i do believe i saw an article somewhere of a stealth hummer. all electric conversion for sneaking up people...so that's what they did with these recycled EV1's  |

I like the idea of a smaller duramax, though they should go even smaller. They should shave off the back 2 cylinders of the 4.5 liter for use it in pick-ups under 6800 gvw, and make sure to offer a stick with it :) .

Thing is, these vehicles are so large and weighty that if you make the engine any smaller you'll have to supplement the power somehow. They should just stop selling them. I always see 1 person driving these things around and all they want is attention. They're a danger to us smaller vehicles.
