you dont even need a fan at highway speeds. the force from the wind entering thru your grille cools the radiator enough.

well my 4 banger s-10 has hauled 900 lbs of topsoil in the bed before and i tow a 4X8 trailer on a regular basis that has a riding mower and a pushmower on it and yes accelerating is a b**** but once your going you dont need that much gas to keep it goin. i just filled up today and i got 27.6 mpg out of it :D now thats justa round town mpg. i know it can break 30 mpg on interstates!

By towing, I mean this. I have towed a 1993 GMC Sonoma with the 4.3L and an auto transmission on a heavy U Haul tow dolly from Austin Texas to Dallas Texas!! I've also moved an alignment rack 35 miles in one trip! I don't do it very often but occasionally my Colorado pulls some pretty heavy loads!


I am so excited!! According to the Scan Gauge, my truck got 31.9 and 32.6 mpg in mixed driving today!

Anyone think a boat tail on the rear axle might help - they look like they are dragging out there in the wind most of the time.

Think about a front lower air dam to move air away from going under the chassis and maybe lowering the entire truck - besides looking cool it lowers cg and reduces drag. Rear wheel skirts too should help.
