Hiya, Hyundai Accent Owner Here
Hi,
Find this site (again) when one of my buddies who is tuning his Mitsu Mirage was trolling here (I'm a programmer/moderator @ MirageForums.net) and linked me something about the megasquirt here. Anyway, I'm somewhat actively seeking an older diesel to convert to WVO, but in the meantime, might as well bump up my MPG in my current car, right? I drive a 2002 Hyundai Accent (Base model) that I have used for daily driving since new, as well as 2 seasons of autocrossing. I've outgrown the "racing" side, I think, and have started working on things I find more important lately. Thanks alot! sandalscout |
hey sandalscout - welcome to the site.
I think you'll find that much of the competitive spirit and driver skill can be turned to the task of driving/tuning for max fuel economy. You can corner just as hard, just have to get used to the slower max speeds. :) Looking at your list of planned mods, I'd bump the SG2 acquisition above all others that require a cash outlay. |

Welcome to GS! Your Garage entry made me look up "rat-rod" : https://cgi.ebay.com/Harley-Chopper-s...QQcmdZViewItem Quote:

"The Rat-Rod is the same idea, the bodywork is made to look dilapidated, or even completely derelict"
Sounds like some of the Metros that were considered for the Forkenswift project.... :-) |
haha, thanks for the welcome guys!
MetroMPG, I will likely be getting the ScanGuage first, I've actually looked into them in the past will looking simply for a scantool, and figured that for the price, while about 3x as much as a normal ODBII scanner, offers a bunch more features. cfg83, the "rat" look ideally for my car will be VERY basic external and internal changes, reminiscent(sp?) of the old school highschooler built rods of the 40s and 50s. Flat black body, some simple pinstriping, moondisc wheels, things like that. I'm also likely to incorporate some other things, such as a custom smoothed front bumper and possibly some modern era rally mirrors (VERY low profile, they hug the windows, but offer a great view). Thanks again for the welcome! |
