Wonder if this brand will ever come back to the US. Just take a look at the new Cuore. Weighing only 1683 lbs it gets 54 mpg on average. Just imagine what you could do with hypermilin techniques! It also gets good reviews abroad for quality. Looks like something we could use in the US.

Nice looking little car. Hope they import it here. My sister in Australia had a Daihatsu for several years and liked it a lot.

They are owned by GM now... looks a lot like the chevy aveo, probably just a better engine setup for mpg. In the states aveos aren't the best on mileage or even close and you can feel the body torque when taking a semi-hard turn. Over-all the impression is just cheap... I'm sure they're better in other countries. GM just serves us garbage unless you are willing to spend big bucks on SUVs. I think they keep the lower level cars crummy so people want to spend (give) the extra money for the "nicer" vehicles in their lineup.

Yeah, but I get the feeling that it is just a wee bit smaller. Maybe it's just the short front bumper.

When I drove the Chevy "Kalos" :rolleyes: in Europe, the interior was very nice. I *think* I had a smaller displacement engine than the USA offers, but I didn't check. The turning radius was great for narrow Euro-urban streets. The one part I didn't like was the feel of the stick-shift. The stick felt notchy, and since I would have to live with that for the life of the car, it made it a :thumbdown: for me.
