Ouch! 2.99 gal

Just filled up and gas here is 2.999 a gallon. I'm sure there are those out there that have paid this but it's a record high here. It's just going to get worst over the holiday driving coming up. :(

baddog671 11-10-2007 12:11 PM

Consider yourself lucky that it hasn't broke 3bucks there yet.

3.15 for 87, 3.49 for 91
3.39 diesel

DarbyWalters 11-10-2007 12:12 PM

And Diesel is $3.19 here just south of ya...$2.95 RUG

GasSavers_BMac 11-10-2007 12:12 PM

HA, $3.30 here!
You better fill up!

baddog671 11-10-2007 12:14 PM

Time to start the 'ol moonshine maker back up so I can buffer out my fuel, down to 2.25 a gallon...

Just kidding:P

It's not that it's 3 bucks(relatively speaking) it that it at an all time high and climbing.

baddog671 11-10-2007 12:23 PM

I see what your saying. Well, consider yourself lucky that your all time high is only 2.999. Damn, you live in Tx, just go drill in your back yard lol..

GasSavers_BIBI 11-10-2007 12:55 PM

Here in Canada its 4$ + a gallon.

Lucky for me, I drive a VX.

GasSavers_Red 11-10-2007 01:05 PM

Been 3.30 for about a week here

XFi 11-10-2007 01:31 PM

Same Here

Filled up today...least expensive I could find was $2.99 here too! (87 Octane)
Eastern, PA

kickflipjr 11-10-2007 01:44 PM

I am going to have to fill up soon. Hopefully I can find gas for 2.99 (most are 3.09).

bowtieguy 11-10-2007 02:10 PM

made a delivery to a hotel near disney world yesterday and checked out the local gas prices along the way. a gas station right near the hotel changed its prices while i made the delivery. came back out to a 10cents/gal increase.

this happened not early in the morning or late in the evening, but in the middle of the day.

popimp 11-10-2007 04:47 PM

In San Fran it was like $3.75 and one place in San Mateo had it at $4.15.

GasSavers_Red 11-10-2007 05:54 PM

Yep, there was a big difference in traffic last Friday. Soon we'll be at the same point as last summer; you can drive home with your eyes closed and not hit a soul

diamondlarry 11-10-2007 06:09 PM

It's been $3.159-$3.199 here for the last couple of weeks.

I just got 'discount' gas for 97.9 cents a litre :p. That's $3.72 a gallon. Now that the Canadian dollar is fairly stong, it's only $3.50 in USA money.

I still can't believe it hit 126.9 cents a litre here this last summer :( ($4.82 a gallon).

VetteOwner 11-10-2007 08:38 PM

its ben $3.18 for a few weeks.

ezeedee 11-10-2007 08:48 PM

3.45 today for 87 octane

trebuchet03 11-10-2007 08:54 PM

Filled up at $3.05 less $0.03 student discount :D

Drive south for 200 or so miles.... $3.20 ish.

Actually, it's over $4 in USD, the Canadian peso's stronger... around here today it was $1.029/L

That $1.10 USD/L x 3.785 = $4.16

Shoot... I am paying about $5.22 over here in Japan.... err, I mean my company is paying $5.22 per gallon. Lately even more than that since I have been treating myself to high octane fuel. Kinda getting off topic, but it definitely does allow me to force my A/T to shift earlier.

Same area as me, and I agree. Though at the wawa, if you paid with cash, it was 2.98.

AlainB7 11-11-2007 06:57 AM

4.52$us here in Montreal, Quebec, Canada!

GasSavers_Minger 11-11-2007 07:53 PM

was like 3.25 or so the other day. I was kind of happy that the premium was at like 3.50, as I think t hat those with the big cars should pay... but at the same time...its expensive :)

lunarhighway 11-11-2007 10:37 PM

It may not be a fair comparison, but i have to pay the equivalent of 7.73 $/gallon.... :(

Yes, Belgium, and a nice strong Euro, and a shrinking US dollar, but still in Europe the market is much more center on fuel efficiency and making cars smaller (compact but roomier) then on how much horsepowers or wheels size. Maybe the high gas price is a reason for that.

Lucky for us in north america, the euro market and asian market is pushing the us market to do the same, but still always few years later, arrrr, honda need to rebuilt my VX from a to z... would be great!

I'm jealous. :(

I love being in cities where I can walk and not have to drive at all. I hate living in the 'burbs. (Damn it, now I'm reminded of that Tom Hanks movie that I can't seem to find as a download anywhere...grrr)

rvanengen 11-12-2007 09:17 AM

Not too worried about it...gas is $3.15/gallon for premium (every other tank for me)...but for a 10 gallon fillup, I just don't buy a bag of chips and all is good. ;)

OMG! You're right, I converted the wrong way.

SVOboy 11-12-2007 10:32 AM

Right now I pay about 5 dollars monthly for gasoline, so let it get to 10$ a gallon for all I care, :p

If the gas price is high, (4-5$ lets say), it will have repercussion even on people that walk and don't go near a combustible engine...

You bet it will. I didn't say that in order to stiff people.

And I said that because sometimes people that do not have cars thing that they do not have to care about that (or that it will not affect them in their own life) and they should take a look at the problematic.

A lot of people don't know that the crude oil price did praticly hit 100$, still it is a big increase compared to the historical price of the last year (78$ in 2006 and now 98$ in 2007). Even those who drives cars, and also a LOTS of african don't know that, THIS SHOULD be teach at school, MAYBE that is why African people are so poor, they do not learn that at school.

(last part about african is purely sarcastic, just to make it clear)

What I have heard and read is that, adjusted for inflation, the price of oil at it's worst point in the late 1970's early 1980's was probably $100/barrel in todays dollars. That "today" was a few years ago when oil was at $60+/barrel. Right at this moment, with the collapsing value of the dollar, I think we need to hit at least $120/barrel to match the "worst point".

Well, it will it 120$, and then more, there is no choice, because the supply wont (and probably already dont) meet the demand, so the supply and demand LAW will act like it always does in this nice and modern world of new technologies with cities on water and hotel on wings, AMEN.

Adjusted buying power (CPI inflation) in 2007 dollars - $39.50 peak in 1979 = $113.43 https://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/cpicalc.pl. I think CPI inflation takes into consideration the strength of the country's currency among other things.

Just FYI to make "today" actually "today" to the current month
