Squeezing MPG Out Of A One-Ton Truck

Howdy y'all.

I'm Big Dave and I try to get the best possible MPG out of a Ford F-350 pickup truck. So far, I've gotten 30% better than when it was new.

I don't think 26 MPG out of a 8,000 lb truck is bad but I believe I can do better.

26 MPG? How the heck are you pulling that off? I would be way content with that

Diesel right? I have a Chevy 6.5 Diesel and the best I did was 22 mpg

Got anytips?

I'm guessing it is not a dually? Lowered? 26mpg is not the overall average?

I am into diesels myself...Jeep Liberty CRD...all stop n' go for the most part and getting 22mpg with very few highway miles. When I do hit the highway I can get 30+ holding 64mph or so. I put a taller tires on to "regear" a bit...but I need to do a Suncoast Torque Converter to get rid of any "slipping".
