Civic HX and EX hoods weigh diff?
 

So my friend decides to donate his 96 civic ex since it was in horrible condition and had about 170k miles. I decided to swap out my "bumpy/wavy" hood (long story) for his hood. After swapping the two, not only was the ex hood too close to the passenger side fender, it also weighed about 1/3 more...

Just wondering if any of you know if Honda made the parts for ex/lx/dx heavier than the hx model, thus the added weighs on the car. Thanks.

I've never heard anything like this regarding the lightweight civic variants, other than some of the HF CRX parts, but that is interesting.
