view vehicles by best MPG

Hi, is there a way to view a list of all vehicles with the best performing by MPG at the top?

It would be great to show the best performing cars & bikes to help me choose my next purchase!!

Thanks in advance :)
Kev.

Unfortunately, no. This is discouraged here as it promotes cheating. Yes, some people will do anything to be on top of a list, no matter the list.

All I can suggest, is to browse among those you are curious about or like the look of and go from there.

Yeah, this is a frequent request but as DTMAce mentioned, we don't want to have leaderboards. Here's more info in the FAQ: Why don't you list everything in order of best fuel economy?

How about instead of top users, top make & model year by MPG? (min of 10 vehicles w/ 10 fillups each, so if someone has a 50 MPG 82 DeLorean (, it won't top the list because no one has that make and M.Y.)

And before someone gets on me about a 50 MPG DeLorean, take one to the top of a hill, use a gas can to top it off. Engine on coast it down hill to the station and top it off again. 0.2 miles travelled and 0.004 gallons used does yield 50 MPG. Unlikely, yes, but if someone wanted to "cheat" like this, it is possible.

Well we currently have a list of the top ten most registered vehicles reported at Fuelly, but not by MPG. Though it would be nice to see an average MPG next to each one. I can't see them setting that up, as its still something that someone would try to get on top of... It sucks but it happens.

I was thinking more along the lines of 10 best MY of brand so if someone was car shopping, they could see that, for example, that the 03 Civic gets better MPG as reported here than the 05 Corolla.

Because of changes over the years, some cars get better or worse MPG with each new iteration.

You get that if you browse model pages now. For example, here's the Civic page. A quick scan will show you which model years are performing better than others across Fuelly users.

I know it works that way, but A top 10 list, like the top 10 registered vehicles, would be something fun to look at.

Then Gen 1 Honda Insight Hybrid with a manual transmission is the king of high MPG vehicles if that is all your looking for. I would suggest looking there if you want to see what actual drivers are getting.
