Developer API?

It would be nice if you had an API that returned XML/JSON to authenticated requests from users. I would love to get at the Fuelly data so that I could display it in-line on my site while also linking to the Fuelly profile. I am not meaning ALL Fuelly Data but just that pertaining to my user. Things such as MPG, miles tracked, etc.

I have thought about making a wordpress plugin to plop the stats in my sidebar but in order to do so I would have to screen scrape the site and cache the information. Would you be against me scraping the site for my data, caching it for a day or so?

Thanks for the suggestion. An API is a frequent request, though not quite in this way. We'll give it some thought.

In the meantime, you can get some data programmatically through RSS feeds. Every vehicle has an RSS feed that includes the details from the last 20 fuel-ups. You could use that to scrape and mirror the running average calculations you see on the dashboard.

Otherwise, yeah scraping the site for personal use like this should be fine.
