1st Post - 1994 Suzuki Swift 1.3L 5-speed

Greetings All,

Could fellow MK3 (1992-1994) Suzuki Swift owners chime in with thoughts on their rides?

A 1994 Swift Hatchback 1.3L 5-speed popped up after striking out on 2 Civic VX's:mad: . The MPG isn't close to a VX (39-50MPG) but around 31-39MPG on the Swift which I will be content with. It's a cool-looking little car. Parts are cheap and I can do all the work.

If purchased, my goals are to get it close to it's original EPA MPG Rating in stock form before making any modifications.

My daily driver is a 1973 240z (17-20MPG Mixed)
I have driven a 1995 Integra (26MPG Mixed)

I'm torn. The VX is a MPG king, but the swift 1.3GT is a sweet looking car.

I have a 93 Swift 1.3, SOHC, 5 speed, hatch back. I like it a lot. The mileage rating on the car was 39/44 and in town it gets about 39. On the highway though it averages 50 mpg at 60 mph. The high gear ratio makes it a great car for freeway driving. I've taken a lot of trips in the car and it's great to be able to go 500 miles on a tank of gas and fill up with 10 gallons.

The DOHC "GT" version doesn't get the same gas mileage but is quite fast with it's 100 hp, lower gearing, 4 wheel disks, etc..
