Hello All...
Just stopping in to say Hello.
I've just completed my first month of ownership with my '92 Civic VX, thanks in large part to this forum, which I visited frequently while trying to decide what to buy. Prior to this, my only vehicle was a 2000 Dodge Dakota 4x4 pickup, which gets about 15 mpg on a good day. I still have the truck as my business requires me to sometimes haul large objects, but the Honda is now my daily driver and quickly becoming one of my all-time favorite cars. I have a fair amount of work planned to restore the car and improve it, so I'm sure you'll be seeing me pop up with all sorts of questions. Happy to be here, and very happy to be driving a VX! |
I too live in Bucks County. Years ago I owned a '91 Civic DX, and I loved it.
What kind of mileage are you getting so far? |
Hey. So far I'm averaging about 42. Best tankful got me 45, and the worst was 39 (but that involved a series of deliveries and trips into Philadelphia... heavy cargo, lots of traffic, start and stop kind of stuff). Still close to 3 times what I get in my truck.
I'm curious to see how it does in the summer. Hopefully by then I'll have a set of lighter-weight wheels and be more practiced in my driving skills (I'm used to stomping on the gas to make a 5000lb truck get up and go). |
Welcome ScrambledEgg! Glad you found the site. Just wondered if your VX is a 4-wire or 5-wire LAF sensor. It will make a difference on your mileage because the 5-wire compatible ECUs have lean-burn. Check out the difference on the Experiments thread CRX VX Mileage Experiments.
In my opinion the VX is the most awesome car for mileage, cargo capacity, safety, and fun ever made. The more you drive it the more you'll love it. |
