Jet Hot vs Exhaust Wrap
 

Hey guys. I'm a total newbie. This is only my second post. I would like to start posting more, but I haven't even used my 1st tank on my recently purchased 99 Corolla. I'll start to track my mileage and go from there.

Anyways, I've been reading around and saw some mixed (good/bad) post about exhaust wraps. How would this product compare to the exhaust wrap? Looks interesting. Feel free to post. Thanks. Everyone have a good day.

There can be condensation when one uses a wrap that can eventually ruin an exhaust. Jet Hot and other coatings like it kind of help out in that regard in that it's applied to the metal on the inside and the outside.

I think exhaust products like those offered by https://swaintech.com/ are superior in what they are supposed to do, but they don't have the same fashionable look.

I'm going to go with Swaintech but I know it is going to be expensive to coat the inside and outside of my 4" exhaust. Thank goodness they are only 4-5 hours away. Hopefully I can "make an appointment" so I can save on shipping.

Swaintech and I did a Mazda Rotary 12A and it did awesome. We did all kinds of coatings...slip coatings, heat dissapating, heat soaking, ect. Stock engine went from 120hp stock to 174hp (stock w/coatings).

Ceramic coating of headers/exhaust definitely helps with "scavenging"

To the question on coatings...

The wraps have one big plus in that they can be fitted in place with out taking the exhaust off and sending it away for coatings.
They do take up more space but the difference is small and they can look ugly if they are poorly done.
The reputation is they can cause exhausts to corrode more quickly and they are also only on the outside of the pipe not on both sides.

The coatings correctly done insulate both the inside and outside of the pipe as well as the attached brackets , plates etc all of which helps.
The items need to be removed , sent away and replaced on return , so it all takes longer.
Prices vary depending on brands and reputation.
The dimensions are in practical terms unchanged and the looks are often improved.

Good luck with it all and post what you find after it is all done.
