Sup from DC metro area
I live in the DC metro area and commute about 150 miles round trip a day to work. A majority of the driving I do is highway and I luckily work a job that keeps me in the off traffic hours. I have just recently started to take small steps to try and improve the MPG on my car. I am currently getting about 250miles from 6 gallons.
The garage: 92 DX HB automatic with 221,xxx miles Mileage = average 40 MPG At 207,xxx I swapped in a D16Z6 and kept it auto. I swapped the PS rack out for a manual VX rack and the A/C is still on but I'm not running a belt. Cold air intake Back and pass seat taken out Running 40 psi in 32 psi tiger paw tires Hopefully get a VX swap in there sooner or later 93 ex coupe 5 speed with 296,xxx miles Mileage = lucky it gets down the road Cold air intake Skunk2 coil overs Hopefully this will be getting a fresh swap soon |
That's a long trip to work. Some here will say to move or change jobs, but that's an individual choice with many factors involved. This cold air intake will reduce mileage, but will give more horsepower.
You've come to the right place for all the DX,CX,VX swap talk. There are many here with knowledge about that; just not me as I have a Cavalier. Gas mileage depends a lot on the driver. I just heard today that my older sister got a brand new civic, but I'll bet anyone I'll get better mileage due to the weight of her foot. |
Welcome to the site and good luck on the swaps.
