1995 VX for $4500, is it worth it?
Hi,
New to Gassavers.org, but have been reading a lot of the useful post and it has help with my gas mileage. Gas prices has gone so much that even though I drive a Civic, it does not get as good MPG as the Civic VX. Recently, I found a 1995 Civic VX for $4500 with 206000 miles. Do you guys think its a good buy? Thanks in advance for info. Cheers, Talerien |
too many miles for the price...

Thanks for the Info Bibi,
I was thinking the same thing, but I read on gassavers forums that VX engines are a dime a dozen, lol, So I could swap out the old engine and put one with less miles. Would that be feasible, or cost efficient? |
where are you located? prices in CA tend to be higher than elsewhere in the country. $4500 does sound quite high... I'd expect a very clean car with low miles for that kind of money. I bought a VX in WA for $3000 a few months ago (180k miles), and see them occasionally in that range.
then again, if you don't mind paying a little extra and want one now.... they're great cars. i haven't done it myself, but i've heard of many here who have done engine swaps. if you haven't been looking long, you might want to dig a little harder. they're getting more and more popular as gas goes up (so don't wait too long!) |
Hi Slogfilet,
I'm Located in southern california, the car for sale is located in nevada. Short on cash, thats why, I was wondering if it would be worth it. I think I'll pass this one and search harder for one with less mileage. Thanks |
