Garage question about entering fuel fillups

I was wondering... where it says price of fuel. I've been entering the price per gallon, but now I'm wondering if I shouldn't put the total price for the fillup. What does everyone else do?

(Putting $60 in the price box instead of $3.989)

I think a lot of people aren't putting in the cost.
