Great! Now I wonder if there's a way to get the scooters and motorcycles into a different top 10. It's comparing apples to oranges and devalues the entire site.

What's funny is I can remember "back in the day" when people complained about some of our Honda Insights (mine included) were in the top 10 because they were hybrid.

we need to take all of the cars out of the runnings except for the 1997 cavaliers. lol

I would still probably be second or third.

Apparently the garage search function is not so hot... searching for "cavalier" doesn't turn up frankencav, despite it having cavalier listed as its model.

It does turn up one 1997 Cavalier (and 6 other cars, some of which are cavs, but none are '97), but it doesn't have a gaslog.

View all and then use your browser to search for Cavalier. You'll only get cars whose names include Cavalier, but it's better than nothing.

Has anyone noticed that the transmission type isn't in the standard options list? Fortunately some descriptions mention it by accident and the ones that do are all sticks at the top. That tells me that with my bunch of ATs I won't be running with the big dogs.

GasSavers_BEEF 08-09-2008 01:08 PM

it just means you will have to work harder to get up there. you are probably right, I don't think you will see any ATs in the top 10.

if it helps, mine is an auto and I have hit 38 on a tank. also, mine is a relatively large engine as far as gassaving 4-cyls go (2.2 liters) and it is a chevrolet which isn't known for efficiency either. the mixed EPA on mine is 25.

I hope to someday hit 40. just on a tank. that would make me happy. my average seems to be going up. my next tank is going to suck because I let my wife borrow the scangauge. she is working on the mileage in her honda element. all-wheel-drive but still 4-cyl (also an auto). she got 25.5MPG there again not too bad for AWD suv that weighs almost 4K lbs. she is working on it.

When I ride a bike I do it for enjoyment and don't worry so much about the gas.

I Agree 100%...But my Yaris almost qualifies as a scooter!

But it is clearly a car and it also doesn't get the mileage that a 50cc scooter gets. (100+mpg)
