I am looking to work on lightening the load. The car has the SFE package meaning steel wheels with caps. The tires are the Continental Contitouring, which is the lightest tire you can get at 20 lbs. At 30,000 the transmission was showing signs of leaking, the dealership under the powertrain warranty replaced the entire transmission unit with clutch disc. Upon replacing the transmission, Ford had a programming update, this is a recall of some sort. The car had to go through its learning all over again, Gas mileage while it was learning jumped to as high as 36 MPG. Prior to the reprogramming, the car held steady at 34.1. It has settled back down to 35.1 and holds that MPG no matter how I drive the car.
