July, 2013,...I traded in my 2007 Honda Civic (@152K Miles) due my vehicle was rear ended for this awesome looking 2013 Black Pearl Hyundai Sonata Limited Hybrid. Very cool body style and has everything but the sunroof! So far I'm much more happier with the overall performance, space and luxury!!! Drive just above the speed limits (no more than +5 mph above) and you will experience a huge benefit to your fuel economy!!! The key is to not be in any hurry to benefit from what this vehicle has to offer in fuel economy!!! The overall fuel economy seems to benefit during the spring/summer seasons verse winter season. This vehicle really seems to get good fuel economy!!! The basics to deriving better fuel economy for this vehicle are to not be in a rush and only drive about 5 mph over the speed limits. You will notice others speeding by you in their mad rush to get where they're going but sooo what!!! I think it's more important to get where you're going alive and the benefits are much improved fuel economy and money saved in your wallet!!!! During Spring 2015, I had my vehicle inspected and although I had 40,000 miles they told me it was just like a vehicle only having 4, 000 miles! The brakes were like brand new and tires were going strong. I do rotate tires and change oil every 5,000 miles. During Summer of 2015 I did a 50,000 mile service. The brakes were still like brand new and the tires still going strong. The reason for the fantastic break pad condition at 50,000 miles is how the vehicle operates when breaking lightly. If you have a light break foot like I do the mechanical brakes barely ever engage. I've learned that there are some sort of motors that work when you apply the breaks lightly which helps to regenerate battery power. If you apply the breaks past a certain threshold then the actual mechanical breaks will engage. Because I have a very light breaking foot and most often I usually coast to stop lights and stop signs and I don't wait until the last minute to apply the brakes, this seems to have greatly contributed to not wearing down the break pads at all!. It is just about Spring, 2016, and I have now averaged between 20,000 - 25,00 miles per year since I purchased this vehicle (mostly highway miles) and I still love it! The tires and breaks are still doing fantastic and the breaks are still like new!Recent decline in fuel economy is due mostly to infrequent/local driving over the Winter months while I used my Jeep Grand Cherokee during the Winter. The fuel economy for this vehicle is basically terrible for local driving but fantastic for highway driving. The comfort is fantastic! This is my last update to this vehicle as of Spring, 2016, and I'm quite happy with everything about this car!!!!! However, I must state that I've had my Radio replaced three times within the less than 3 years of ownership. The radio basically controls everything from SATELLITE, BLUETOOTH, REAR CAMERA, HEAT & COOL CONTROLS, RADIO CONTROL FOR VOLUME, etc... This one component costs about $3500.00 to replace. After I had the third replacement done at about 60,000 miles the Dealer and HYUNDAI were not going to offer me any additional warranty for the new radio replacement. This was unacceptable to me so I decided HYUNDAI was not honorable and I decided to get rid of the vehicle. I decided to trade this vehicle in for a brand new 2016 Honda Civic Touring Model. The Honda is a bit smaller in comfort but I believe with the newer 2016 Honda turbo engine I'll achieve much better local fuel economy while maintaining similar fantastic highway fuel economy! I'm starting a new fuelly vehicle tracker for the 2016 Honda soon so keep your eyes peeled for my new 2016 Honda results!
