Took it in to Myer’s after Toyota of Waldorf said the water pump was leaking and quoted us $1,400. Myer’s confirmed it was leaking and quoted us $1,070 + $20 for a thermostat. They also checked the OCV (oil control valve) by clearing it out and driving it. When the error didn’t come back, they confirmed it is working ok.

We took it in due to a check engine light. They did an inspection and found a number things to fix. Primary reason for the light was an oil control valve (OCV) error, but they said it was working properly. They cleared the code and said if it came back to replace it for $630+ tax. They also saw the water pump was “beginning to leak” and quoted us $1,450 plus tax. We called Neil at Myer’s, who can do it for $1,070 plus tax. We plan to do that this month. We did replace the PCV Valve (which is a regular maintenance item we were overdue for), spark plugs (iridium were supposed to be replaced at 120,000 miles), and plastic clips holding on the undercarriage splash shield. They did an oil change we did not ask for so they made it free. They also cracked the windshield so they replaced that at no charge (but an extra day). We also held off on replacing the front stabilizer link ($350) and the lower ball joint ($725) are both wearing out and leaking grease. They had previously told us about those.
