Chinito did more than this, knew it was a big one but gave me a deal. Says I can drive a long time with clutch as is if I’m gentle. 5k trip ok I’d avoid bad hills.

Battery guaranteed for 5 years, at any Toyota dealership The check engine light is for the catalytic converter, which is going bad. When it’s really bad, the car will lose power and get worse gas mileage. Cost to replace is $2,500. Waiting also causes increased emissions.

Didn’t rotate tires, said that needs to be done only every other time. As for the check engine light that came on a few weeks ago, he said it might cost $600 and if it was him he’d ignore unless it comes on again. He had turned it off for me before last Medford trip, said it was an emission issue and not a safety concern.

These are the equivalent of studded snow tires, guaranteed for 60,000 if rotated every 5k miles. Bob says struts, shocks and alignment not a safety issue but would improve handling and wear and are normally recommended after 100k miles.

Chinito cleaned the rear brakes, which have 35% left. Front brakes have 75 %. Need new tires all around before rainy season. He thinks I have another 100,000 miles on the car
