D15Z1 in a 91 CRX HF
Has anyone done it before? I got that motor lying around, Still have the ECU for it, Im gunna try using the HF intake manifold and transmission, but convert it to obd1 with a ECU jumper with the dizzy and convert the injectors
just wondering if it does help on getting higher MPG, the motor i have is fine now but it has 200k miles and the d15z1 has about 110k |
It'll help a lot, bunger on here has one in his 88 hf and matt is almost done his sedan swap.
Does the HF have EGR? If not I'd get the VX IM cuz you'll need it's egr setp. Anyway, hf transmission is perfect, sounds like you're on the right track. Depending on your location and how you want to drive you could be getting 70mpg. |

Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve
It's on the intake manifold, on the 4th runner I think? I wish I had a picture to show you, I'm pretty useless right now. Hmm, mehbe matt will chime in for me. |

If it helps, I'm in the beginning stages of my own '89 HF to D15Z1 swap and just recently picked up a rather complete engine (pan to head w/ intake manifold, intake tube/box, one mount and distributor.) My process will be slow going because of school/work, but if I get rolling fast enough I'll post up a thread to update progress w/ notes. Mak
P.S. Bunger, man that engine is clean! |
How much did you pay for the longblock, mak?

is it the thing i circled? if so ya I do got one
so would i just have to change the injectors, ecu, and dizzy? |
Yeah, that sounds right, you need to ditch the injector resistor box when you go to obd1 injectors though.
