Due to throttle lag and a rough idle the carb was rebuilt. The bike now seems to run much better! In the future, use fuel stabilizer and drain the carb if the bike will sit for an extended amount of time!!!

Although the bike still seems to run ok, the standard air filter seems the same as the KN filter. The idle seems good, but when slowly throttling up while in neutral it feels a bit starved for gas. Again, the choke half way resolves this. My guess is a carb issue. I will attempt to ride it clean before taking it in.

A few months back a drained the tank. Before this, idling was rough. I had suspected it was due to old gas? With the carbs dry and gas tank empty, I put in .5 gallons of gas. The engine still ran rough even with the Choke on. I checked the air filter (which was never changed in 5 years) and swapped it high a high air flow KN filter. The engine seems to run smoother, but requires the choke to be pulled 1/4. I'll try ordering a standard air filter.

Although I'm not currently riding this bike, I've actively started and ran the engine every weekend for the past several weeks.

4/12/11 Just got the bike from Action Tires in Henderson, NV. Got new tires, and oil change, and my brakes adjusted. The bone heads did not tighten the front break pad!

I've noticed an intermittent oil leak coming from a breather tube. It doesnt leak all the time. It did leak fairly heavily right after a fuel up on 7/3. I'll continue to keep an eye on it. update: Fueling the bike to the brim in the heat is a bad bad idea! Fuel expands. As a result, it killed my fuel pump!

I had really bad gas leak due to a faulty fuel pump. It has since been replaced. Hopefully I'll get some better gas mileage on the next fillups!

I've been riding a whole lot more lately. The weather is nice and Nicky has been using the car a lot. One thing I need to do really soon is get a tune up and some new tires. Should get it checked out this weekend.
