Discovered that the AC problem was caused by a blown fuse, which kept the auxiliary fan from running, which kept the AC from running. The BMW factory wiring diagram was wrong and said a different fuse powered the fan. After I figured that out I replaced the fuse for $3.50 and everything is working again. I also had to replace the passenger rear window regulator for $100.75 in parts (I tried URO this time).
