Cooling system overhaul. WP, thermostat, radiator, hoses, exp. tank, cap, serpentine belt and idlers. Cost about $705 total. Test drove and the thermostat was definitely bad. The car heated up faster and reached full temp for the first time since summer. Bearing noises are gone too.

Changed oil. Mann filter with a mix of 4 qts Rotella T6 synthetic 5w40, 0.5 qts Mobil1 synthetic 5w40, and 2.5 qts Mazda 0w20 synthetic with moly that I have lying around. 11,356 miles on this oil. Odo at 105964.

Tekonsha P3 trailer brake controller installed. Also, purchased removable towing extension mirrors. Total cost for all vehicle preparation including wiring was $236.62. Also spent some time tuning the trailer brake and controller.

Found that the cause of my "check rear lights" alarm was a missing brake light bulb and socket. $27.35 to replace.

Found some missing bolts in the factory hitch, which was apparently installed wrong. I replaced the bolts and verified the rest of the installation was done correctly.

Replaced oil/air separator and PCV valve preventatively based on common oil sludging issues in these BMWs. Replaced all the associated hoses as well. Used the "cold weather" insulated versions and OEM parts (except for one hose). Also replaced the dipstick tube O ring and did a little sludge cleanup. Tested DISA valve and found it to be in good working order. Odo 97425. Accidentally reset tripometer with est 318 miles on tank so far.

Changed transmission fluid with Valvoline 75w90 full synthetic. Purchased extra for differentials as well. Also blew out air filter and aired up tires from 30 psi to 40.
