Put in new brake lights which weren’t working. Did oil and filter change. Said car was very rusty and might not pass inspection (needs under coating) but it did.

Oil change ($39.95) and checked brakes ($99) for rusting issue when starting car after a long rest. Said mother was too bad so just wait for now until brakes deteriorate further.

Auto Stop said two front tires needed to be changed because of dry rot. At first Firestone said they were ok but later said they should probably be changed. Also said brake hose was rubbing on wheel and wearing down. They replaced it and also did a wheel alignment. Alignment: $79 Sure drive all season tires (2): $118.74 New brake hose: $141.39 Brake fluid: $93.48 Total: $453.58

Took car back to Babu and he replaced two engine mounts with Ford parts. Showed me one mount that was cracked. Checked transmission fuel leak said it wasn’t anything to be worried about—just some residue. Payment was done at last visit.

Was having trouble starting the car. Took it to Babu at Langley Exxon as recommended by Kasey. Replaced battery and tire that was almost bald. Did oil/filter change. Charged me for engine mount replacements although hasn’t done it yet. Ordered parts for next week. Amount here doesn’t yet reflect engine mounts even though already paid.

Juliet noted rear passenger side tire was low. Went to this spot and they put slime or something similar in the tire to patch it. Then they rotated it to the front and put the front passenger tire in the back because it has low tread and the rear carries less weight.

$20 for VA safety inspection. $15.40 for labor, $9.99 for oil filter $35.96 for half synthetic oil. Said two engine mounts were not in great shape, which was causing the rattling. Gave estimate for replacing them.

Took car in for pre-Thanksgiving drive to MN (but didn’t end up doing trip). Decided to do several recommended items based on age of car. During break fluid exchange, bleeder valve broke off and they had to replace break calipers. Lube,oil and filer service: 38.07 Spark plugs: $202.49 Fuel induction service: $175.73 Serpentine belt replacement: $190.02 BG power steering fluid exchange: $118.48 Break fluid system fluid exchange: $143.31 BG cooling system fluid exchange: $178.73 Disc brake calipers (front): $372.72

Noted rattling when got back from road trip to MN, noted the heat shield was loose again. Went to Kasey’s shop and they removed the heat shield, saying it was too corroded to refix. Didn’t charge me anything.

Did 75K check up and found nothing wrong. Just did oil and filter change. Didn’t rotate tires because they were all different varieties of tire. But said none needed to be changed.

Airbag dashboard light on. Replaced airbag clock spring. Also did oil and filter change. Labor $213.75, parts $149.61. Total $375.84 Light turned back on a week later. Had to bring the car back on 11/10 and they put in another clock spring saying the first was malfunctionial.

Check engine light came on soon after last oil change. Car stalled at low speed three times. Took it back to mechanic who said it had “system too lean” message, told me to take it to a dealer. I took it to Auto Tech Service, they couldn’t find anything wrong except carbon build-up, which they removed and turned off engine light. Light came back on again soon after. Took it to Kasey’s shop. Performed smoke test, found leak at PCV hose under intake manifold. Removed and replaced PCV hose. Included renew intake manifold gaskets. Labor: $233 (abt 3 hrs) Parts: PCV hose $46.55 + gasket $30.52 = $77.07 Supply charge: $3.97 Sales tax: $4.62 Total: $318.76

On 12/26 pulled small nail out of driver-rear tire and heard hissing. Tried to change tire on 12/29 but couldn’t get wheel off. AAA came and pulled off wheel and changed tire. Noticed a second larger nail in middle of tire. Took to Firestone, they said they were able to repair tire, but had only noticed larger nail in center. I checked pressure in Firestone parking lot and it was low again. I showed second hole to mechanic, who sprayed it and saw it had pierced the tire. They then replaced the tire with a new tire for no cost. Paid only for oil/filter: $30.50
