Purchased the proper size tires for the Mustang 17" rims, speedometer matches the gps fairly close. Definitely better interstate handling and not so nerve racking...

Drove from Centralia to Portland and back to Centralia. Combination of mustang wheels in front and regular wheels in the back. The Mustang wheels gave the truck really sensitive steering, especially in the grooves on the interstate.

Drove the initial 40 miles around town/work, then stopped off in centralia for a fillup on the way to Portland

Have been driving around with the Mustang 17x9 wheels and still haven't seen any improvements in mileage, even after taking off the shell around 140 miles. Will try to change out the rear wheels with 55 profile tires versus the 45 already on there.

Drove around with the shell and changed out to Mustang 17x9 rims with 245/45/17 wheels and noticed significantly easier accelleration and the speedometer is now going faster than the gps by about 3 mph at 50.

Had the shell and the explorer rear tied down in the back, really sucks down the gas for short trips.

Took a 300 mile round trip to Graham and back with the shell to establish an estimate for hwy travel and didn't lose much, worked out about the same amount when driving with few stops, even when the back was loaded down with heavy gear. Stop n Go really cuts down on the mileage. 52.7 avg mph 5:36 total time truck odo showed 274, almost 23 miles off for 300 miles

Topped off to confirm the 3 mpg loss with the shell. will be doing a longer trip and will determine the avg hwy mileage.
