First fill up - using 87 Ethanol free gas - since first oil change. Switched to Mobile One Synthetic - 0W20 oil. This would complete all my planned mileage improvement tweaks at this point in time, Interestingly I recorded a 77 MPG 5 mile trip back home from the gas station!!!

These statistics are at the end of my second full tank of ethanol free gasoline. Trying to establish a set of practices that enable the best fuel economy including: - Tires inflated to 40 PSI - Ethanol free gasoline (noticing a slight increase in MPG) - Conservative driving practices (regenerative breaking, modest starts, etc.) - Modest use of air conditioning - not set lower than 72 degrees) Last practice will be to switch to Mobile One Synthetic Oil at first oil change. I have used this in all my Honda Hybrids and think it does reduce friction slightly. Really enjoying the car and the MPG. On short trips to do errands I frequently achieve around 60 MPG!

2nd full tank of ethanol free gasoline. Using Race Track 87 octane - kind of pricey but interested to see if it has a measurable positive impact. So far I am impressed with the trip to trip performance.

First fill up with 87 - Ethanol Free Gas. There is a RaceTrac within a couple of miles that offers this all the time. A bit more expensive and we will see how much it helps after driving on a couple of tank fulls!

Very hot weather return trip home from Orlando, FL. Temperature hit 100 F degrees several time during trip. Air conditioner set for 72 so it worked diligently to keep us comfortable. As a result the car never went into electric drive on the highway. So the lock up gear on the transmission got about 39 MPG. Also car was carrying 3 people and their luggage.
