May 22 2012

I'm experimenting with filling to the brim instead of just to the fill plate. Gets me an extra .4 gallons and puts three round trips easily within range so it will save me from stopping at the gas station every two days. But the fill isn't as accurate so you will see more variance in my data.

Mar 20 2012

Finding a better throttle angle for PnG is 50-70%? 45F in the mornings and 70F on the way home. Still some room for improvement with a longer rear sprocket and eventually, an aero tail.

Mar 15 2012

Very cold both mornings at 25F. I put the grip muffs back on the second morning after getting dangerously cold fingers the first. So one leg of four had the extra drag of the mitts. And the cold air robs some heat energy from the combustion. I should get better with warmer weather. Full on PnG only added 10%? A little disappointing.

Two round trip commutes plus 70 miles of errands and local traveling to the bike shops and such. Local riding and errands give higher mileage due to the lower average speed. rode with the last bar flashing for 20 miles. 10 more miles and I would be walking? So about 2.6 gallons US from dead empty to the fill plate and then I can easily count on 200 miles on a fill.
