*Motorsports labor I /A non starting problem (1.5h) Complet factory service *Replace bent brake & clutch lever (0.5h) *Overall Safety Inspection *14860 2001 Kawasaki Vulcan 800 Drifter: 7/21/2023 3:15-4:05pm (0.83h) Looked up the part numbers for the brake and clutch levers. I then called CCP to check in availability. There are some reproductions available through WPS and Parts Unlimited. I texted the part numbers to KC. Made a copy of the periodic maintenance chart I tried to start the bike. It would run on the choke but would not run when I turned the choke off unless I was giving it at least 1/4 throttle. Suggest a carburetor cleaning. *46076-1204 clutch lever (x1) *13236-1315 Front brake (x1) *Harley Davidson labor time to sonic clean and rebuild carburetor (3.35h) *Disassembled the carburetor and put it in the Ultrasonic cleaner. 7/25/2023 3:00-4:45pm (1.75h) Take the carburetor out of the Ultrasonic cleaner and rinse it off. Blow dried the carburetor parts and reassembled the carburetor. Installed the carburetor. Connected all of the hoses to the airbox base and installed the airbox assembly. The gas in the fuel tank smelled old. I drained the old gas out of the fuel tank so I didn't contaminate the clean carburetor. Installed the fuel tank and gauge assembly. I put 2 gallons of gas from the fuel Caddy in the fuel tank. I started the bike and it went straight to a smooth idle. After running it for a little while I shut it off and finalized the oil level. Installed the seat. Wiped the whole bike down. *FLOAT 16031-1089 (x1) *O RING 92055-1518 (x1) *Go over whole bike do safety inspection (0.58h) *Oil filter AHL-303 (x1) *Oil, Belray motorcycle 10W40 4 qts. *Shop supplies for carburetor spay, rags, nuts, bolts, washers, electrical, bits, tap, etc. *Front tire 130/90-16 67H *Rear tire 140/90-16 77 H *Mount & balance one tire on bike front tire *14860 2001 Kawasaki Vulcan 800 Drifter: 8/1/2023 10:20-11:05am (0.75h) Jacked up the front end of the bike. Removed the front brake caliper. Removed the front axle and front wheel. Changed and balanced the front tire. *Mount & balance one tire on bike Rear tire (1.75h) *14860 2001 Kawasaki Vulcan 800 Drifter: 7/31/2023 1:15-2:30pm (1.25h) Get the rear end jacked up. Removed the brake caliper. Removed the rear axle. Jacked the bike up more to the point where I can remove the rear wheel. Changed and balanced the rear tire. *7/31/2023 3:30-4:00pm (0.5h) Get the rear wheel up in the fender and get the bike lowered down to the point where the axle will slide through the swingarm and wheel. Installed the axle and brake caliper mounting bracket. Cleaned the blue stuff off the white walls. Mounted the caliper. 7/31/2023 4:00-4:00pm *Tire disposal (x2) *Front brake pads P/N 44082-1234 ebc *Motorsports labor 8/1/2023 11:30-12:15pm (0.5h). Removed the brake pad pin and removed the old pads. Installed the new pads and installed the brake caliper. *Spark plugs NGK CR7E 2EA. (x2) *Antifreeze (x1) *Brake fluid (x1) *Harley Davidson labor time to change oil antifreeze bleed brake front and rear change spark plugsvalve adjustment (3h) *14860 2001 Kawasaki Vulcan 800 Drifter: 7/25/2023 10:00-2:00pm (4h) Removed the seat and fuel tank. Removed the air cleaner assembly. Removed the pair valve. Removed the carburetor. Drained the engine oil and removed the old oil filter. Installed the new oil filter. Removed and cleaned the oil screen. Reinstalled the oil screen. Poured in 3 qts of BelRay engine oil. Drained the Coolant. Removed the thermostat housing with the hoses. Removed the valve covers. Checked the valve clearances. The valves were all in specification. Reinstalled the valve covers and thermostat housing. Connected the coolant hoses and filled the cooling system with fresh premixed coolant. Removed the old spark plugs and installed the new ones. Flushed and bled the front and rear brakes. Greased the swingarm linkage. Lubricated the kickstand pivot and clutch lever pivot. *Motorsports labor 14860 2001 Kawasaki Vulcan 800 Drifter: 7/26/2023 11:15-11:35am (0.33h) Take the bike out for a road test after the service. Runs nice and smooth.
