After our previous experience with the mileage we got from the gas at the Cookeville Sunoco station at the corner of Jackson St. and Willow Ave., we got gas there again this time. We'll see if we experience similarly stellar fuel economy or if it was just a fluke last time. Total miles: 16,878.

Regular fill-up. This MPG represents gas we bought at the Sunoco in Cookeville, TN, which claimed to be ethanol-free. Good results. We're back to purchasing gas in our hometown for this fill-up, at our usual no-ethanol location. Total miles: 16,152.

Lots of cruise control usage on the interstate, set at 75 mph most of the time, followed by a fair amount of in-town driving in Knoxville proper. Not bad mileage, all things considered. Regular fill-up. Lots of city driving this time around because my wife has been at home with our newborn son for the past several weeks. The Cube sat so long that the tires dropped below 30 psi, tripping the TPMS light on the dash. We topped off the tires before this fill-up. Wife is back to work as of today, doing her regular 60-mile round-trip commute. Total miles: 11,762
