Fully synthetic oil change @Wilde Subaru in Waukesha w/ their $32.99 mail coupon. It's been 4 months since my last oil change, yet I've only driven 1,600 miles, and half of that was a two day January road trip to Detroit! Ah, the joys of having two cars, and living 2 miles from work :)

Matt (Subaru tech that I know) replaced the leaking power steering pump (a common WRX problem), the front brakes (rotors and pads), cleaned and resealed the Intake Air Control Valve, and resealed both leaking valve covers, breather housings, and oil filler tube, all for only $300.00 total (I bought the pump and brakes online for $150 and $60). Car now runs like new. He even checked and noted the intake and exhaust valve lash while he had the valve covers off. It pays to know a good Subaru tech :)

I had been getting an occasional CEL P0304 (cylinder 4 misfire) since early November, but it always disappeared and never affected driveability... until the South Dakota road trip. Lesson learned, don't ignore what your car is trying to tell you! After limping home with the light on, I had Matt (tech I know at Wilde Subaru) swap the ignition coils on cylinders #4 and #2, which ruled the coil out, and then replace all 4 spark plugs, which took care of the problem. He also did a fuel injection service, cleaned and lubed the front and rear brakes, and did a brake fluid flush. Since RockAuto sent the wrong sized rotors, the new rotors and pads will be installed at a later date. Car still needs both valve cover gaskets replaced (oil leaking from top of both valve covers) and the power steering pump replaced because it is leaking. Will do those the next free weekend Matt has.

Autocrossed this car for the first time, on brand new, fully scrubbed in 225/50/16 Hankook Ventus Evo tires. Cool (50's), dry conditions. The car handled like a boat, thanks in part to the lack of an aftermarket sway bar. Despite the new, wider, high performance tires, I managed only 54th of 101 on PAX, and Jimmy Crawford (2-time SCCA Solo national champ in HS), had his best of two runs put him at only 49th (had it counted - he car hopped that day)... http://www.waiautox.org/2014/Event%207_pax.htm ... Alignment and winter tires (195/60-16 Pirelli Winter Sotozerros) mounted on spare rims (not on the car yet, still too warm out) by Justin @Lake Country. Front: -1.1* camber, 0 toe. Rear: -1.5* camber, 0 toe. Drives perfectly straight now :)
