replaced air and cabin filters. had a harder time with the cabin filter this time. the support bracket came loose and stuck inside the dash assembly. finally fished it out.

changed oil, oil filter, air filter, and cabin air filter at 14804 miles. quick change valve worked well. oil filter wrench worked well. remove hose clamp, air hose to change filter.

4 january 2012. had the side window wind deflectors installed. $90.00 also notice small area on left rear fender, at seam, where rust is starting to form. possibly a parking lot scrape or rock damage. will need to get it treated. cost of deflectors was $184 + $90 to install. could have done it myself.

first oil change in subaru outback. 0-30W, mobil one. subaru filter and crush gasket. took about an hour. torque for oil pan drain bolt=33 ft-lbs torque for oil filter 125 in-lb. hand tightened. filters: $6.95 from subaru (small blue filter), crush gaskets, aluminum, from subaru $1.00+ oil: walmart in 5qt container. 14mm for oil pan drain bolt. 25 mm for oil filter wrench bolt.
