No charge. Brakes still squealing from $618 pad/rotor replace on all wheels. Today Dave replaced front pads and front rotors (even upgraded rotors from premium to the higher lever in the front). Still squealing as I backed out at Dave’s. Talked to Dave. He said drive it and see how it is. Also said that I should bring it back between 50-100mi to retighten lugs and he wants to know if they are still squealing then after driving it for awhile. UPDATE: 2024.01.29 - 151,405 miles; Pads/rotors lasted until today and almost 55,000 miles; the squealing never stopped but only really happened when backing up; started grinding this day and had new pads/rotors installed at everything automotive (they also broke in the pads/rotors)

Apr 13 2020

Brakes have been squealing since the pads and rotors were replaced by Dave in February. Brought the vehicle back a few times for Dave to fix but didn’t figure it out til now. Might have been metal bits in ceramic pads but Dave also found that the spring between rotor/caliper that holds the pad in place? Was rubbing on rear wheel. Also could have been dust between caliper/rotor but Dave said he didn’t see this on the front. *dave replaced rear pads still under warranty and also apparently fixed a spring That was rubbing on rotor Took Dave for a ride last week when brakes were squealing. He identified it as the rear as the problem. I would have bet that I’ve also heard the front driverside and Dave said if it’s still a problem to just bring it back.

All new ceramic pads and rotors on 4 wheels. Need to “break in” pads by going 35mph and them applying steady pressure to almost 0mph 6 times. Then do same at 45mph 3 times and then let brakes cool completely. Pads smoking after wards is normal and part of curing process. UPDATE: 2024.01.29 - 151,405 miles; Pads/rotors lasted until today and almost 55,000 miles; the squealing never stopped (*see other visits to Dave) but only really happened when backing up; started grinding this day and had new pads/rotors installed at everything automotive (they also broke in the pads/rotors)

Front brake inspection. Brakes seem like they are grinding when first start driving. Occasional squeal when stopping. Two recent times stopping (when wet out) were longer than normal stopping distance. Almost seemed like pedal pressure was low. Dave’s automotive couldn’t find anything wrong with front brakes and said the pads are around 50% worn. About the same as last miller hill Subaru inspection had front pads at 5mm
