Today I pulled the pump out and replaced the copper washer....tighter than the original spec. Everything looked fine on the faces of the fitting and the pump, no marring or gouges. Cut off about 3/16" of the hose to get better clearance along the filter clamp. Much better clearance now....about 1/4 inch and a smooth bend in the hose! So much easier to attach that hose to the aux fuel pump when you have the pump removed! Put the pump/bracket back in. Primed it, started it, and drove it a few times this afternoon. Checked it after each leg and there was still some diesel possibly from the hose clamp or what seeped out from under the hose/fitting. I wiped it down as best one can each time. I did NOT see any diesel around the washer like I did over the last few weeks. I'll keep an eye on it over the next few days. By the way, with the pump removed I could clearly see that there was NO diesel dripping on the belt cover, so I'm not concerned that diesel leaked onto the serpentine or timing belt. Just got back from a 70 mile round trip. Checked the junction halfway and when finished driving, dry as a bone. As hoped for, the diesel seepage after changing the washer was just some residual diesel from the hose and perhaps the hose clamp. Happy. If this starts to leak again I will definitely seek out a soft aluminum crush washer. I used a copper washer from the dorman packet which contained one with a more proper ID that actually fit better around the threaded fitting than the OEM one. These copper washers are a rather 'hard' copper 0. If anyone is looking for info on how to pull out the aux fuel pump, I used the Timing Belt change DIY f(part 1) from myturbodiesel.com . About halfway down the page there is info on removing the pump. Another great site, by the way. If you want to completely remove it, disconnect the two electrical connectors. I pulled the pump out of the housing to clean off the diesel from the rubber mounts and actual bracket. http://www.myturbodiesel.com/wiki/cbea-cjaa-vw-jetta-golf-jsw-tdi-timing-belt-removal-part-1/

Thought I smelled diesel the last couple of weeks after getting back from a drive. Popped the hood and saw nothing around the two fuel filters. Got back from a 90 mile ride tonight and decided to look again after I could smell diesel. Pulled the engine cover and sure enough could see diesel on the auxiliary pump fitting. I remember Andrew suggesting to check the barb during the install as this has been a known spot for potential leaks. Well tomorrow I'll be tightening that fitting. I do have the correct crush washer if I need to replace the fitting. Doorman P/N 66250 gets you pack of 6 washers. Think I paid $3.99. As a couple of others have stated, PLEASE check for leaks after the install and keep in mind that with all the vibrations from the engine that marginally tight fittings may loosen over time. If you smell diesel look carefully at ALL the fittings. I was just too lazy to pull the cover last week and thoroughly check. Well at least its just minor seepage and not a substantial drip. FYI, took a look at the gauge after 11500 miles and the needle is at basically the same position, 2-3 psi, as when I did the install on the contain flow kit.

Picked-up 24" and 19" Goodyear Assurance Wiper Blades from Costco for $7.99 each. Could not stand the squeaky Trico rubber inserts installed a month ago. These blades are a quite as the OEM Bosch. They appear to be the same graphite impregnated rubber as the Bosch. Work great if installed correctly. Replaced wiper rubber on Bosch ICON wiper blades with TRICO 24 inch refill $7.49 @AUTOZONE. Rubber similar to OEM. NOT graphite impregnated. Noisy compared to graphite impregnated Bosch. Sprayed glass w/Detailer wax to quite blades. 24 in Driver, 19 in passenger. Dealer 14.86 ea..., with no shipping, perhaps cheaper. Also replaced rear Blade rubber with leftover piece of rubber from change 2 years ago.

61457 miles( 45 months use) Checked my two key fobs. Was definitely a worn out key fob battery in the key I use daily. Bought a new 2032 3V battery($2.79) (Reads 3.25V) and message did not appear. The lock/unlock function also appears to respond quicker with the new battery. Put original battery (reads 2.77V) back into the fob and the same "renew key battery" message pops-up. IMO, a useful and surprising little feature that I had never heard of before.
