Read and un-read topics

I log in and see the green and blue dots. I select a green dot and go in and read the subjects with the stripes. Then I back out to the main page and continue to all the other green dots. Then I refresh the main page and the green dots don't turn blue. I click on the green dot and no stripes on the message icons, which is correct, back out to main page and refresh and still have green dots. What I have to do is click the green dot and go to the drop down menu and select mark this forum read, back out to main page and refresh then the green dot turns blue. What broke in the system?

This is something wrong with the software itself. I've noticed it with other VB forums I visit. It's just something that needs to be fixed on their end. All that we can do is wait.

I thought it was just me. I've been seeing the "unread" posts highlighting (dots & bolding) disappear occasionally for all of my actually unread messages.

If that makes sense...

makes sense. I'm unsure what system vbulletin uses for determining unread messages, but it appears to be lacking.
