This is the newest kei car from Japan, Suzuki Alto Works: turbo 3-cylinder, 658cc, 64hp, 670kg and costs about $12,500 in Japan. Jalopnik just did an article on the car. Too bad the rest of the World is too hung up on safety and regulations. Well, if you wait 15-25 years you will be able to get one eventually.

I like that a lot, we get the old shape Indian built Alto here but it's not worth a look at all, proper pensioners car! We sadly lost Daihatsu a few years back during the recession when the Yen V's the pound value fell. I had about 4 Daihatsu's 3 of them were 847cc, one was 989cc. I also had a severe accident in my mums old Daihatsu, saved my life, she bought exactly the same car but a different colour straight after.

The cars your picturing as 24 hours of LeMons, are actually 24 hours of "Lemons". I raced a car in that series. There are much wilder cars in there then pictured. The idea of the lemons races are that the initial purchase price for the cars cant exceed $500. Of course you have to add about $4,000 worth of roll cage, brakes, harnesses, fuel cells, etc.
It was a blast, check them out: https://www.24hoursoflemons.com/ |

I'd love to participate in the LeMons race. Would be for the epic lulz. Something like this upside down Camaro would be awesome- https://blog.caranddriver.com/wp-cont...nt-626x382.jpg |

If you ever go to a race hang out in the penalty box, thats where the real entertainment is. |
I watched most of their videos on YouTube for the 24 hours of LeMons, it looks like a lot of fun. My favorite story was the Honda Civic engine with a Mercedes supercharger; the crankshaft of a Civic spins the opposite way to most cars, so the supercharger was sucking air out of the cylinders before blowing up after a few laps. Doing one of these races is on my bucket list.

Thought you'd find this funny, Lee Nelson has performed a few publicity stunts like this. Worth a giggle.

Yes, very funny. "It doesn't need repair, it's a perfect car!" Hahaha, the Germans are funny, they think their cars are perfect. Thanks for sharing.

They say Germans have no sense of humour, look around the room after he's escorted off, nobody is laughing at all, not even a smirk. I'd be in absolute stitches! Love how he says "enjoy the show" as if they're just going to push him to the back and leave him.
