To get a second set of data on the SXT, I kept it for a long road trip in hopes that the highway mileage would increase. Here's the second look:

What I think we're forgetting here isn't how high the engine can rev, but the power and economy it delivers. The Golf TDi (Diesel) redlines at something like 4500 RPM, but you don't need to run it...
