Federal excise tax is 18.4 cents. Some local politician is saying just to get rid of it and it'll solve all the problems. Where the money will get pulled from, I dunno. Everyone's big on balancing...

I am quite confident in saying the future depends very little on US gas prices, but mehbe that's just me. If they went down a lot I'd think we'd be headed for more trouble.
