I agree with the IR lamp idea. A 125 watt IR lamp will keep you nice and warm in a 40 degree office if it's over your shoulder and pointed down at your face/hands. A flex headed floor lamp works...

The oil heaters just heat up and cool down slowly- its a more even heat, but they give no more BTU per watt than a cheapy electric type that blows hot air.
