Plane and race car engines operate under parameters a daily driver may never see in their life. The differences in fuel may require a different lube. That's a possibility with running 100% biodiesel...

The viscosity of zero oils aren't much lower than a 5 under the cold temperature test protocol. It's known as the cold test because it's at a lower temperature than the engine operating temperature...

My Advance Auto Parts now has a bin for the oil bottles next to the used oil tank. A sign at Walmart said they recycle filters now.

Besides the lower cold viscosity, the 0w- oils are group IV, or...

I've tried tried 0w-20 in the Prius, and did see an improvement in mileage, but you can't get the mobil 1 in the big jugs. Under the factory warranty, I was sticking to the 5000 mile change interval...

Since cold weather is around the corner, a 0w-x will give less resistance to the engine during warm up.
