Got the car back from the shop. The guy said he replaced MAP sensor o-ring and cleaned up some carbon deposit. A couple hours of labor, no parts, came out to $140 total.

- Removed throttle body/manifold and cleaned up carbon deposit, used new gaskets and some rtv sealant - test drove the car - no change.

Did some more testing this morning on 92 Civic - Blocked off PCV line, vacuum booster line, charcoal canister line - went for a test drive - no change, idling is still rough.

Erik, yesterday I tried to set base idle on 94 Civic - connected tach and pulled off IACV connector - the idle was rough and a bit high (~800 vs 450 spec). I think it's vacuum leak causing it to run...

So I tried this test again, this time EGR valve...

So I tried this test again, this time EGR valve diaphragm was pressurized from the same source as the manifold - and confirmed that EGR valve stayed closed but was leaking. So now I have 3 EGR valves...

Civic VX - Leaking EGR Valve problem

I've been chasing down erratic idle on my 92 VX, probably due to a vacuum leak.
I reported it earlier in this thread:
