The pumps appear the same, just checked, the wheight is only slightly more than the VX, the extra gear adds a little more, but the shaft is most of the wheight.

Anyone know why they would put that extra gear that adds wheight and more mass for the motor to turn on the water pump?

I have not compared the HX to the VX water pump yet, have them at home, but...
