On my '89 Civic hatchback, I changed my 16 lb....

On my '89 Civic hatchback, I changed my 16 lb. steel rims for 9.7 Honda VX wheels. Did NOT notice any measurable difference in MPG.

Read somewhere that lighter wheels offer the biggest MPG...

Hmmm. I checked out that website, but it's confusing. When I go from 165 x 70 to 155 x 80 my TRUE mph will be 39mph instead of 60mph. (shrug)

On paper lighter wheels look GREAT. I replaced my 16 pound steel rims for 9 pound, Honda VX rims.

Practically speaking, in our day-to-day driving I personally don't think it amounts to much MPG...
