Thanks for the explanation, but I do understand all that as I used t be a race car driver and did my own work. I also worked in the oilfield industry so I understand about fuel blends and octanes....

Interesting. Thank you for the information. However I would point out any increase in MPG is not due to an increase in octane. Any increase would come from the same things that increase our MPG here...

Higher octane does not give better MPG. Do a google search on the subject. Higher octane does not have any more BTU's than lower octane. Octane is an anti knock additive not a BTU additive.
