Actually extremely lean fuel mixtures like past 16:1 would less likely to do damage than a more rich but still lean mixture like 15:1 as something around 15:1 makes the most power for being lean....

"lean burn" isn't going to function well unless you can make sure the fuel mixture is homogeneous. Does this car have 2 or 4 valves? Maybe you could copy the civic VX/HX valve timing by turning one...
