Took to Family Tire in Morehead City, NC. They replaced brake line again and got the fitting to seat properly. They were not able to bleed the front calipers due to corrosion. I was told that it was suggested that I replace the front calipers. While trying to bleed the front brakes they noticed that the front driver side, upper ball joint was worn out. They suggested immediate replacement; however, due to available funds and time, I was not able to do so. Cost was $136.10 Will buy parts and replace myself with help from a Certified Ford Mechanic at next available time. Post note: Brakes are extremely squishy. Takes some time to stop. When taken back to Family Tire they attributed it to not being able to bleed the front brakes. Post Note..... 3/27/2013 Replaced front calipers, and ball joints. (still plenty of front brake pads, no need to replace. Not a contributing factor of slow stops.) Bled front brake lines. Brakes are still extremely squishy. I suspect that Family Tire did not bleed my back brakes. Supporting evidence is that I have used chemicals to try and brake free the rear bleeder valves and have been unable to do so; also, there were no tool markings on the rear bleeder valves prior to my attempts at bleeding rear brakes. Will take back and ask to be shown how they did it.
