San Jose, CA: Took US 395 to SR 89 to US 50. Used 3rd on the way up and down some steep hills. Stellar numbers, over 51 mpg before sitting in a parking lot with the AC on for at least an hour. So, it is interesting to note that this car likely gets much better mpgs in tough terrain than flat ground. Explain that one to me. I should also note that my brakes overheated and squealed the entire length of US 50. Luckily it wasn't a real problem although I thought I was going to die

Bishop, CA: The second cheapest station within probably 250 miles. Also sets my personal all time record for highest price paid for a gallon of gas. Once again, it sucks that I have to drive 60 mph, but maybe the Ahole in Gaza won't have enough money to buy that extra dynamite stick

Sucks that I also need to go about 55-60 on the freeway to get the numbers I want, but it's time we wake up to the fact that we need to stop using so much of this crap they call oil. Who cares if it takes 2 extra minutes to get there? If $4 gas doesn't make you want to drive differently, your a stupid zombie! WAKE UP! (and stop tailgating me d***wad!) Early fill up as I'm leaving on a big trip the next morning.

Thanks to my new device I am able to experiment a bit with what is more efficient. Basically I drive slower, and I obviously could've done that on my own. A 180 miles trip to San Diego and back at 60mph doesn't hurt either. This device provides the instant feedback that I need to know the balance between efficiency and becoming a roadblock.

I return to California just in time to witness the Apocalypse of gas prices. I also change my regular station to be the Chevron one on Brookhurst and Chapman (a bit cheaper). I am also very disappointed that even a long trip couldn't get me into the 40 mpg range. At this time I feel very ripped off. Also I wish this site didn't ignore the previous fuel up. It should add the numbers together, not throw them out.

Actually 2 separate fill ups...one for only $10 and another to complete the fillup at the end of the trip but I dont have the individual mile readouts for each one so I'm combining into one. Gas price is weighted average of two.

I wanted to fill up before I went to Vegas, but the first pump kept shutting off. I backed up to the next one and it declined my card because its suspicious or something. Went inside to fill up and the girl wouldn't let me, so I just asked for another $8 worth.

Second fill up for me and this car. Last one was on May 3rd, the day I bought it. The dealer said there was half a tank. It was less than 1/4! Jerk!
