vx headlight problems

I have a 93 vx, when I turn on the headlights the parking lights come on but not the headlights. If I pull the light lever the brights come on while I hold the lever. After a couple of minutes the low beams come on. It seems worse in the cold. Anyone else have this happen? Any fix?

Thanks
Justin

It sounds like a relay that doesn't work when it's cold.

Either a faulty headlight switch (which is somewhat common) and sound like your problem since you have to hold onto the light stalk. Or faulty connectors at the headlight (also common for these cars).

You can go to a you pull and get a replacement stalk for cheap and all you need is a screwdriver to get it off the car or buy new from honda or your local parts store.

You can buy new bulb connectors from your local car parts store for around $5 a piece. Visually inspect your bulb connectors for any cracking and make sure that they are tight fitting to the bulb. There also should be a tiny amount of bulb grease in the connectors to make them more weather resistant.

Thanks. I wish I had checked the junk yard last week, before this snow.
