The 2022 Tesla Model S Plaid does 0-60 mph in 1.98 seconds now.

That's "quoted" but they actually time it as it's rolling apparently, it's probably not much quicker than the P100D I went in 6 years ago which at the time, did a 2.28 second sprint to 60. It was fast enough trust me. You're just working against raw physics and tyre capabilities really.

"Without the customary one-foot of rollout, the Model S Plaid can hit 60 mph in just 2.28 seconds"

That's on a drag strip, on normal tarmac, it takes 2.45 seconds, but we're splitting hairs here, it's a stupidly fast car however you mess about with the figures.

If you wanted to be really pedantic, you can add 15 minutes to those times, as that's how long it takes to condition the battery before such launches haha.

I'd love to be on a sub 2 second budget but even if I was I don't think I'd spend more than 5 seconds or so.
